Sexual Health

Kim provides therapeutic support for young people around sex and relationship issues.

What the service offers

The services offered includes tailored, confidential sessions with young women at risk of poor sexual health, work with parents of teenagers, and therapeutic group work with girls to build resilience and broaden horizons.

Kim receives referrals from other agencies, such as social services, local secondary schools, and the looked after care team, as well as self-referrals. The young girls referred are those identified as at risk of poor sexual health and teenage pregnancy. Kim works using Solution Focused Therapy to explore with the girls more about their lives and their future aspirations. This service can be provided as one-to-one sessions with young girls, family sessions, or group sessions with up to 8 young girls over a set period of time.

The overall aims of the project are to contribute to a reduction in teenage pregnancy, increase awareness of and access to sexual health services, raise aspirations, and provide work & volunteering opportunities for young girls.

Services aims...

  • To provide targeted and therapeutic one-to-one interventions
  • To facilitate young women’s support groups
  • To provide therapeutic work with parents and teenagers
  • To support access to sexual health services
  • To encourage raised aspirations
