The Healthy Living Centre is a multi agency team of health professionals working across the East of Brighton offering a range of innovative and accessible health services within the community.
Who we are
We have been working in the East of Brighton since 2002 and have developed strong and successful partnerships with more than 40 statutory and voluntary agencies including South Downs NHS Trust, Brighton & Hove City Primary Care Trust, Brighton & Hove City Council, The Carers Centre for Brighton & Hove, Crime Reduction Initiative, Brighton & Hove Food Partnership and MIND in Brighton & Hove.
The Healthy Living Centre is funded by the PCT and falls within the Strategic Commissioning Plan for 2008 – 2013. Our priorities are contributing towards reducing health inequalities, improving life expectancy, reducing teenage pregnancy, improving sexual health services, reducing childhood obesity, reducing alcohol related hospital admissions, supporting carers, promoting effective mental health services, increasing numbers on successful drug treatment programmes, improving access to weight management programmes and delivering physical activity initiatives.
Together with local and regional partners we are working towards the long term sustainability of the Healthy Living Centre through sharing good practice and ensuring that east Brighton is represented across relevant city strategies, whilst maintaining effective partnerships with key city agencies.
